There be the Katy Perry “Sesame Street” episode airing anymore. “Sesame Street” is popular as a children’s show and known for the appearances of famous stars all the time. There’s a portion where the vocalist and Elmo sing a duet together. Perry and Elmo sang a different version of her song “Hot and Cold,” however the apparel the performer chose to wear was too much for some moms and dads. The video was seen by moms and dads as it was leaked on YouTube. This is when moms and dads decided it was time to send letters and emails in complaining, resulting in the sketch being pulled.
Guest star Perry is on ‘Sesame Street’
“Sesame Street” and other Jim Henson productions have always featured appearances by celebrities of the day. Katy Perry is a wildly popular singer at the moment, having had a number of hit singles that received a lot of airplay on radio and videos on music television over the last year. Having Katy Perry on “Sesame Street” just makes sense. The show shows her singing a duet with Elmo. “Hot and Cold” is the song they sing. The lyrics were altered so the song was totally kid friendly, but that wasn’t what incensed mothers and fathers.
Her visual appeal is what moms and dads do not say ‘yes’ to
YouTube got the clip of Perry singing with Elmo released to it, as Elmo is a popular character. Some viewers of the clip right away began writing letters and e-mails to producers, worried the segment was too racy for children. The content of the Katy Perry Elmo segment is totally innocuous, but Perry’s dress shows a bit too much cleavage for a kid’s show, as outlined by MSNBC.
Segment dropped
Producers dropped the segment as a result of all the outrage concerned parents showed. Neither Perry nor her fiancé Russel Brand have commented, although the clip is on YouTube still.
